Each session – 1 hour. OUR PHILOSOPHY & COMMITMENT TO PARENTS & EACH STUDENT As a member club of the South Australian National Football League our fundamental aim is to promote the game of Australian Rules Football. Because we are a football club – not a business – our objective is to provide opportunities for young players to acquire and develop the skills necessary to participate in our great game. The holiday coaching clinic was developed in 1991 for the purpose of providing specialised coaching to primary school students in a well-controlled and organised environment. It is an integral component of the Club’s development programme and we strive to ensure that participants receive quality coaching from accredited coaches. FEATURES OF THE STURT FOOTBALL CLUB SCHOOL HOLIDAY COACHING CLINICS • Groups are organised according to age and restricted to approximately 12 participants per group. This allows a ratio of 1 coach per 12 children. • The clinics are properly resourced. Students work with footballs appropriate to their age. There is little point to a seven year old using a senior football because they simply do not possess the motor skills to cope with adult equipment. • Our coaches are accredited and receive regular in-servicing to compliment their coaching skills. • Activities are conducted in a safe environment. In the event of injury. (Accredited Sports Medicine Australia Level 2 Sports Trainer is on duty at all sessions.) Sturt Football Club CLINIC INFORMATION 1. The ratio of coaches to students is approximately 1:12. Groups are organised according to age. 2. The coaches are Sturt Football Club players who either possess an educational degree, are undergoing training in such degrees or hold an appropriate coaching accreditation. 3. The clinics will not be cancelled due to inclement weather. Please bring wet weather attire if necessary. 4. The Sturt Football Club, its appointed officials and coaches are not responsible for articles of clothing that may be left behind each day. 5. Please note that refunds cannot be given after 31/3 for April HCC training and 30/6 for July HCC training. However, in the event of a child not being able to attend through illness, a credit can be arranged for future coaching clinics. 6. Confirmations of enrolment are not forwarded by return mail. 7.
