This large market has created interest for food producing countries worldwide. The increasing awareness of Muslims on their religious obligations is creating greater demand for halal food and other consumer goods. There are approximately 1,6 billion Muslims out of the 6.5 billion world population, the majority of the nations are in OIC Member Countries. T Thus, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the potential of the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets for halal foods started to be realized, leading to an increase in the production and certification of halal foods. This has expanded into South Asia, the Mediterranean, Europe, Central Asia and South America. Halal product certification is the prerequisite for entering the global Halal market.
