Ruth Wilson (The Affair, Luther) stars in the title role as new bride Hedda who returns from honeymoon with husband Tesman (Kyle Soller, Poldark) to find their relationship already in trouble. Trapped but determined, Hedda tries to control those around her, only to see her own world unravel. Tony Award-winning director Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge & The Crucible on Broadway) returns to National Theatre Live screens with a modern production of Ibsen’s masterpiece in a new version by Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal, Closer). Launched in 2009, National Theatre Live broadcasts have been seen by an audience of over 6.5 million people at 2500 venues in 60 countries.
