Let's Make the Most of Leamington's Potential

CHARLOTTE EARL FRANCES LASOK Let ’s make the most of Leamington’s potential Your local Conservative Candidates for Leamington Clarendon We’ll work with local groups and knock doors to hear from you about what needs solving Dear fellow resident, Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. My name is Frances and I live just off Leicester Street in North Leamington. I moved here for the first time when I was a teenager, came back to settle here as an adult, and now I’m standing to be our next district councillor here in Clarendon. Although I’m involved in the community and have worked a lot with local government, it wasn’t my plan to stand as a councillor. But, and it sounds so cheesy to say this, whenever you walk around the area or walk down the Parade, you realise how lucky we are to live here. We have so much potential; we’re the Silicon Spa, a stone’s throw from two universities, a town of both young families and people who’ve spent their lives here. We’re a town of contrasts too. Probably one of the most prosperous and innovative towns in the region but at the same time children live in poverty here, and Leamington has some of the wards with the highest levels of deprivation in Warwick District. It’s the council’s job to ensure that all voices are heard and help ensure that everyone is able to access help when they need it. Frances Lasok Charlotte Earl Many of us have walked around the town during lockdown and looked at the closed Your local candidate Your local candidate for shops, at the closed schools, at the closed and silent Parade. It’s a reminder of how we for Clarendon, District Clarendon, Warwickshire can’t take what we’ve got for granted. We all know how many of our businesses will Council By-Election County Council Elections be reliant on an economic recovery post-COVID and, in a town that’s defined by our 07874 074299 07852 880 023 communities, how many groups will have been unable to meet for over a year. [email protected] [email protected] That’s why I’m standing. Some details are on the back about how we can use the Council’s resources to get the best for residents, like last year’s emergency support for the town centre businesses during COVID. The Commonwealth Games comes to Leamington in 2022 for the bowls and the start of the cycle race, so let’s use that opportunity! There are exciting plans for the Creative Quarter running roughly from the Town Hall to the station, and the plans to extend the cycle routes will get us on the way to a cleaner and greener Leamington. We’re a town with huge, huge potential and we can knuckle down to achieve this, at Philip Seccombe the same time protecting what we’ve got. Police and Crime Commissioner [email protected] Like most of us, in my job I get measured on results. In my free time, I volunteer helping 07773 326046 get people from different backgrounds into public life. It’s that drive for making things www.philipseccombe.co.uk happen and achieving potential that I think we could use in Clarendon. Both of your Conservative candidates live locally and can bring hard work and enthusiasm to our area. My contact details are below if you would like to get in touch. At social distance, I hope we get a chance to meet soon.
