The potential trading opportunities cause the entry and spread of the pests and diseases of fish or Hama dan Penyakit Ikan (HPI) and the fish quarantine pests or Hama dan Penyakit Ikan Karantina (HPIK). Spread of HPI and HPIK as well as a threat that could endanger fish preservation of natural resources in the territory of the inner country. One of the HPI and HPIK disease that causes economic losses is fungal disease group paracite. Fungus is easily spread in the water and have the potential to spread widely across state lines due to the effects globalization. The purposes of this field practice are to know, understand and practice the process of fungi examination contained on imports and exports of fishery commodities both, conventional slide culture method and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Working method used technique of data collection such as primary and secondary data by way of active participation, observation and interviews. Practice Field activity was held on January 14, 2013 until the date of February 14, 2013 BBKIPM-KHP Soekarno Hatta, Tangerang, Banten. The conventional slides culture method commonly used gel medium to prepare matter into identification process. Fungi examination with conventional Slide Culture method consists of four stages insulating samples in SDA medium, incubating the samples for 4-5 days, staining fungus using Lactophenol blue, mushroom identification under the microscope. Polymerase Chain Reaction is an enzymatic method that is used to multiply exponentially a specific nucleotide sequence. Examination of fungi using PCR method consists of four stages of nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and electrophoresis and visualization or diagnostic examination result to the UV Transluminator. Results of examination by using conventional slide culture method in BBKIPM-KHP Soekarno-Hatta on practice field activity obtained Saprolegnia and Aspergillus. Saprolegnia that infect two samples of imported fish commodities and Aspergillus that infect 16 samples of exports fish commodities and 24 samples of imported fish commodities. While the examination of fungi by PCR obtaine all fish sampled negatif Epizootic Ulcerativ Syndrome (EUS) fungi. All fish sampled ekspor comodities can be exported to other countries.
