News from FJUHSD REVISED Fullerton Joint Union High School District ■ 1051 West Bastanchury Road, Fullerton 92833 For Immediate Release For More Information Contact: Date: October 30, 2017 Todd Butcher, 714-870-2818 FULLERTON JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT REOPENS THIRD KEY MEASURE I PROJECT, SUNNY HILLS HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM REMODEL PROJECT The Fullerton Joint Union High School District (FJUHSD) held a public ribbon cutting ceremony for the gym modernization at Sunny Hills High School located at 1801 Warburton Way, Fullerton, on Tuesday, October 25, 2017 at 3:45 p.m. The Gymnasium is the third official project completed and delivered to the local community under the current $175 million, voter-approved Measure I bond program. The modernized gymnasium facility includes over 16,000 square feet of new flooring including a dance studio floor, a new main lobby including a new ticket booth and a new snack shop, and courts for Basketball and Volleyball, new ADA compliant restrooms, a new state of the art electronic scoreboard, and new bleachers that seat close to 962 people. Additional improvements include energy efficient lighting, HVAC systems, replacement of ceiling, new doors and hardware, new rolling shade systems, upgrade of major utility systems including electrical, sewer, water, fire alarm and data, and interior and exterior finishes. “This is the third of many outstanding projects that will serve our students for the next 50 years,” said Superintendent Scott Scambray of Fullerton Joint Union High School District. The next phase of high-priority Measure I projects the District is scheduled to kick off are the stadium modernization and new theater at La Habra High School; gym modernization at Troy High School; theater modernization at Fullerton Union High School; new stadium at Buena Park High School; and new gymnasium at Sonora High School.
