Plenty of pens sold over 230p/kg topping at 251p/kg. the medium weights averaged 238p/kg which would be less compared to last week. The smalls still a good trade, averaging 214p/kg and big hoggets still sold over 227.5p/kg. We still need more hoggets to keep our 7 strong buyers support. SQQ 227p/kg NEW SEASON LAMBS (53) A tremendous show of spring lambs to start the season off, with all sorts wanted. Topping at 305.5p/kg was PG Amphlett, Tawelfa, for a pen of 44kg (£134.42) with another pen at 300p/kg. More springers next week please! However, big ewes were as dear as any averaging £88. The entry consisted of 60% small, lean, hill ewes, which certainly hasn’t helped the average. Topping at £117 was HE Havard, Cwmbrynich for 2 Texel X Ewes. But we still had plenty of ewes sold over £100. It showed that we can manage 500 plus ewes every week.
