Kraken Sports | KrakenVC.org Job Title: Volleyball Coach | Denver, CO Reports to: Manager, Volleyball Head & Assistant Volleyball Coaches Kraken is a youth and adult sports club, providing education and competition in the sports of basketball, futsal, volleyball, baseball, and softball. Our club is opening a new location in Denver, Colorado. We offer volleyball education, camps, clinics, private instruction and boys and girls club teams. Our facility features 4 basketball / 8 volleyball hardwood courts, an indoor baseball/softball training center, a kid’s adventure park and a restaurant. We are excited to bring quality sports education and competition to our location in Denver. Information We are searching for experienced and passionate Head and Assistant Coaches for our volleyball club. Both head and assistant club team, and clinic coach positions. Must foster great team culture while instilling the importance of being good teammates. Fundamental understanding of volleyball skills and instruction are of the utmost importance at Kraken. Coaches are expected to teach and train Kraken approved Gold Medal Squared curriculum. Every practice must be executed with purposeful written practice plans that work towards team goals and individually developed athletes. We invest in our coaching staff with coaching education, through both in-house mentoring and attendance at coaching clinics and conventions. We also support our coaches in their pursuit of USA Volleyball coaching certifications. Coaches also have the opportunity to supplement their competitive coaching stipend by coaching Kraken clinics, camps, 1:1 and group training sessions year-round, as well as working Kraken hosted tournaments. Time Commitment • 1.5-2.5 hours twice / weekly team practices • 2-3 tournaments / month | 1, 2 or 3 day events between hours of 7am-9pm | December - May/June • 3 day events may require air travel • Full coach attendance of training sessions and tournaments are a MUST. All tournament absences and training conflicts must be disclosed prior to accepting a coaching position. Failure to meet this standard may result in reduced pay or release from the club Head & Assistant Requirements: • Background Clearance • Puget Sound Region USA Volleyball Coach Membership • IMPACT Certification from USA Volleyball • Completion of SafeSport and USA Volleyball Coach Officiating Courses • Experience playing volleyball in a competitive setting • Enthusiasm and passion for volleyball and coaching youth • Valid State of Washington Driver's License • All requirements must be met prior to tryouts, only exception is ref training that is yet to be scheduled Head Coach Experience • 2+ years Head Coach experience in club and or school positions • Must be a strong communicator comfortable with athlete, parent and club leadership discussions • Experience creating positive learning environments that foster healthy competition and growth • Strong drive for continued coaching growth and fully on-board with training Kraken approved curriculum.
