Once you’ve booked your accommodation you don’t need to book in advance for breakfast or dinner as we’ll have a special area dedicated for Rally members. But, if you’ve not yet made a booking please do so as soon as possible as the hotel is almost full. Booking Spa, Swimming and Riding The Hydro has over 60 activities on-site, but in particular we have a large Beauty Therapy & Spa area. Meals with Wheels On the Saturday evening dinner in The Melville, we’re planning to have a small display of cars in the room. We can probably manage 20 cars. If you’d like your car to be part of this display, please email [email protected]. Kilt Hire Quite a few have enquired about Kilt Hire. I shall be wearing tartan on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. If anyone would like to hire traditional Scottish dress, then please contact House of Tartan on 01764 656 671. Friday 9th July 2021 Morning – We’ve arranged to visit Scone Palace on Friday morning and the Earl and Countess of Mansfield have given permission for Rally members to park out the front of the Palace. For the Guided Palace Tour and Gardens admission the cost is £20.00 per adult and for the Garden only £10 per adult. www.scone-palace.co.uk Tickets must be purchased in advance from their website. https://www.scone-palaceshop.co.uk/pages/tickets Afternoon – We’ll visit The Black Watch Regimental Museum in the afternoon and they’ve confirmed that Rally members will receive a discount of 20% on Museum entry tickets. Evening – We’ll host an 1881 Gin and Glenturret Whisky Drinks Reception at 6pm and then have dinner at 7pm in the Strathearn Suite. Afterwards we hope to have a Ceilidh band playing for those wanting to try some Scottish country dancing, if Covid allows. Saturday 10th July 2021 Annual General Meeting at 9.45am Meet for the AGM, tea and coffee on hand. Scenic Run leaving at 11.15am A scenic run to the Falkirk Wheel including a boat trip and talk from one of the Falkirk Wheel engineers. The Kelpies can’t accommodate us, so we’ve replaced it with a scenic drive around Perth and Kinross before returning to Crieff Hydro. https://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/falkirk-wheel/ Timings for the scenic run are: 11:15 Depart Crieff Hydro for The Falkirk Wheel 12:15 Arrive Falkirk Wheel, car parking has been reserved 13:00 Rotation boat trip booked with a talk from an engineer. Free time after the boat trip for lunch and walk round 14:30 Depart Falkirk Wheel for scenic drive to the Queensferry Crossing, Kinross, Glendevon before returning to Crieff. 16:30 Arrive Crieff Hydro Falkirk Wheel Tickets must be booked in advance directly with [email protected]. We have booked a rotational private trip at 1pm. £13.50 per person with a talk on the boat, engineering and guide. The time of 1pm is fixed so we need to be there on time. In the evening we’ll have our Meals with Wheels dinner in The Melville. Dress to impress – black tie or tartan whichever you prefer and afterwards we hope have a Ceilidh band playing, if Covid allows. There will also be our photographers Trevor and Gillian on hand for the evening. They are very good, experienced and creative photographers and have taken shots of many people including Susan Boyle. You’ll be able to purchase photos afterwards for £10 per picture. Sunday 11th July 2021 We’ll have a car display on the Crieff Hydro estate in the morning and for anyone who wants to, there will be another opportunity during the car display, to visit my cars and garages at Easterleigh on the Crieff Hydro Estate, 200m from the front door. For those members who want a local trip out, there’s the option to visit Drummond Castle & Gardens which is only five minutes’ drive from the hotel. At the moment it’s only the gardens that are open and tickets must be booked in advance.
