Manchester City and British School Jakarta (BSJ) have today announced the launch of the first Manchester City Football School in Indonesia. Wednesday, 30 June 2021 - Manchester City and British School Jakarta (BSJ) have today announced the launch of the first Manchester City Football School in Indonesia. The Manchester City Football School will provide authentic and creative football coaching programmes for students, utilising the coaching philosophy and methodology of Manchester City. Based within BSJ in the Tangerang district of Jakarta, the Football School will include a Manchester City coaching team utilising the first-class facilities of BSJ, which include both natural and 4G pitches, indoor alternatives and conditioning facilities. Jorgina Busquets, Managing Director - Football Education & Recreation for City Football Group, commented: “It is a pleasure to be opening our first Manchester City Football School in Indonesia with British School Jakarta. BSJ stood out to us from the beginning because of their unrelentless pursuit of quality and focus on providing the highest well-rounded education for their students. We look forward to contributing to it by providing an authentic & inclusive experience at the Manchester City Football School, where all programs will follow the same philosophy that we use in Manchester to develop our own players.” David Butcher, Principal of British School Jakarta, expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration with Manchester City to launch the first football school of its kind in the region. “It is with great pride and excitement that we can announce and launch our partnership with Manchester City Football Club and open the first Manchester City Football School in Indonesia," said Butcher. "Our campus has superb sporting facilities and the Manchester City Football School will have a tremendous impact on the learning and development of our students across all age ranges and abilities. This is a great fillip for our community and I have no doubt that this long-term partnership will flourish in the years to come. It is very much a case of paving the way for BSJ as we are totally focussed on being a school for ‘today and tomorrow". The Football School’s official opening will take place in September 2021 for BSJ students and will expand to offer programmes for the wider community in 2022.
