Within Forcella Serralungo Mountain - Bussento landscape 24 individuals geosites were surveyed, which can be incorporated into two categories, one related to epigean and hypo- gean karst processes, the other related to morphostructural and stratigraphy interest. Regarding the first category we have: the canyon of Morigerati (main geosite) and the other canyons of Serretiello, of Totorella, of Casaletto and of Fornetani; Bussento river, the only river of Italy with the underground way for interactions between river and groundwater (example cave “Orsivacco”); springs “i Pozzacchi”; Ruo- tolo of underwater spring and ancient karst system connected to it (Cave Ruotolo); springs “Fornetani”; Oasis of Morigerati spectacular karst cave on the Bussento river (Focal and complementary geosite). The cavity has, near the portals, a morphology such as a gorge at the bottom that, at the top it tends to widen. Today you can enter the cavity, although for a short distance, through a prepared path. A wooden bridge can even bypass the river and to visit a fossil branch that is developed for than 50 metres. The cave has, in his first 100 meters of the path, a trend similar to that which can be found in a shallow gorge. The cave is home to colonies of bats. The geosites of stratigraphic and structural interest are: Torre Villammare and Cordici examples of Mio- cene transgression on bauxitic red clays; Fortino, marine terrace with a macrofossils tyrrhenian bench; Ceraso Mountain, an example of slope in polyfasic recession; Sapri cliff of “Torre di Mezzanotte”; Sapri -Timpone, outcrop of Sapri’s breccia and the Miocenic bauxitic red clay; Sapri-Mucchie, mid- Pleistocene marine transgression on the continental deposits of alluvial fan facies; Sapri-Prianchetta, an example of reverse fault (Cretaceous limestones on Miocene flysch); “Cava dei Perali” example of bordier fault; St. Michael Mountain slope fault; Caselle in Pittari, outcrop of lacustrine varv and example of landslide ("Sackung "of the valley).
