High precision products like surface plates may also be made for engineering application. 2.4 Demand-supply Gap. There is a demand of black galaxy granite and is ever growing with the growth of industrial sector in the country. The requirement of the mineral is always found high in adjoining areas. 2.5 Imports V/s Indigenous production Black Granite mined from the proposed project will neither be exported nor imported. It is an indigenous production and will be supplied within the country. 2.6 Export Possibility No export. 2.7 Domestic/ Export Markets The rough blocks being quarried in the mines will be consumed in the local market. The average price of the 1.2 up size is Rs. 5,000 to 12,000 Per M3. The applicant possesses sufficient man and machinery for excavation and marketing. 2.8 Employment generation (Direct and Indirect due to the project) The proposed project will generate direct employment to 39 people of the poorest section of the society, while benefitting more people indirectly. Manikanta Minerals Pre-Feasibility Report 3.3 Details of alternate sites considered The mineral is site specific, hence there are no alternative sites considered. Mining activities are carried out based on local geology and availability of the mineral. 3.4 Size or magnitude of operation The proposed mine has lease over an area of 4.0 Ha. The total extractable material would be 5133.60 Cu.m/annum. 3.5 Project description with process details The mining will be opencast semi-mechanized mining Drilling, Excavation & Loading will be done mechanically. Tippers and trucks will be deployed to transport mineral stack yard and waste to the proposed areas for back-filling. 3.6 Working depth (below ground level) The deposit 6 M below ground level upto RL 100 is considered under G1 category (11) (Proved) reserves and 30 M below the ground level upto RL 70 are considered under G2 category (122) (Probable) resources. 3.7 Raw Material Required Along With Estimated Quantity, Likely Source, Marketing Area of Final Product/S, Mode of Transport of Raw Material and Finished Product No raw material will be required in the proposed project. Except removal of overburden in the upper layer, no mineral processing will be carried out in the mine lease area. 3.8 Resource optimization/ recycling and reuse. Minerals are depleting asset once mined; they cannot be replenished like agriculture, vegetation thus a scientific approach will be taken up in exploitation of mineral with systematic method. Mining work will be carried out by semi-mechanized open cast method. Overburden will be disposed in proposed dumps and reclamation and rehabilitation of the dump by way of afforestation will be taken up once the dump becomes stabilized or rehandled. PROJECT: M/s.
