This unique vision of giving students the opportunity to share their own voices through the arts has grown every year and today the program serves more than 40,000 students annually at the University of Utah and in our community through the organization’s programs and services. Today, Tanner Dance is different, yet remarkably the same. The program is larger now and serves a broader base of the community including: Tanner Dance Studio classes in all genres of dance, Arts-in-Education for 4,500 scholarship students in Utah Schools, Dancers-with-Disabilities, Children’s Dance Theatre, Fine Arts Professional Development for Educators Preschool, French Immersion Preschool, Contemporary Dance Companies for Middle School and High • School Dancers, Creative Arts, and Community Partnership classes. It is the only program of its kind, which, as part of a university, serves as a teacher-training laboratory for students in dance education, educational studies, special education, health and physical education. Tanner continues to hold a silent auction in conjunction with our annual January community concert, titled Arts in Education • In Accord. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Tanner Dance Scholarship Endowment, which provides needs-based scholarships to students in all programs and general operating support. It will be held on January 24 and 25, 2020 in the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts and Education Complex at the University of Utah. We would be absolutely thrilled with anything that you can donate!
