CONTACT: Bill Patjane [email protected] AMERICAN PARKINSON DISEASE ASSOCIATION SELECTS MIKE “SARGE” RILEY TO KICK OFF APDA VIRTUAL OPTIMISM WALK BOSTON, MA – April 21, 2020 -- The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is pleased to announce that Mike “Sarge” Riley will kick off the 2020 APDA Virtual Optimism Walk on May 31st at 12 noon. Massachusetts Chapter provides an array of dynamic programs and services, including support, education, training and health and wellness initiatives, aiming to serve the more than 18,000 individuals (and families/supporters) with Parkinson’s disease (PD) in the region. Recently, the New England Revolution hired 98.5 The Sports Hub anchor Mike “Sarge” Riley as the club’s public address at Gillette Stadium. A veteran sports announcer and on-air personality with nearly two decades of experience behind the microphone in the Boston area, Riley is currently a sports anchor on the Revolution, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics flagship radio station, 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ-FM). Riley’s current roles include serving as public address announcer for Babson College men’s and women’s basketball, Providence College men’s ice hockey, and the Boston Cannons. He has also filled in for Patriots home games and at TD Garden for the Boston Bruins. Riley has served as the public address announcer for several collegiate programs throughout New England, calling multiple sports for Boston College and Mount Ida College, as well as men’s ice hockey for Bentley University, and Merrimack College. He spent time as the Master of Ceremonies for Boston Blazers lacrosse games at TD Garden, and minor league baseball outfits Brockton Rox and the Lowell Spinners. He also served as announcer for Needham High School Athletics from 1999-2011.
