VACANCIES FOR FULL TIME RESERVE SERVICE POSITIONS MARCH - APRIL 2014 VACANCY FOR AN OR7 OF ANY SPECIALISATION SERVING AS A SHIP’S MANAGER WITHIN HMNB CLYDE SCOTLAND - REF No 1722720 A vacancy has arisen for an OR7 of any specialisation to serve as a Ship’s Manager within HMNB CLYDE, Scotland on FTRS(HC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCOS). The Ship’s Manager is responsible to the Ship Alongside Services Manager for the co-ordination of Base wide services for vessels within the Dockyard Port. He provides the primary point of contact for all vessels within the Dockyard Port and deals with the routine organisation and practical support matters concerning the logistical requirements of both Base ported and visiting vessels. The Ships Manager conducts duties as on-call Ships Manager and on-scene oil spill commander out of hours. The Ships Manager monitors and actions LOGREQ signal requirements. The Ship Manager is responsible for: Liaising with vessel staff, external authorities and internal Base departments in order to co-ordinate provision of services to vessels. Releasing LOGREQ reply and other formatted signals on behalf of QHM and as directed by QHM in the execution of his duties. Liaising with the control engineer and the Duty Naval Base Officer (Clyde) and all appropriate on- call staff in order to respond to queries of an urgent nature during out of working hours as the on- call Ship Manager. Liaising with vessel staff, external authorities and internal Base departments to co-ordinate provision of services to vessels as the on-call Ship Manager. Being the on-call On-Scene commander for oil spills and is to be at one hours notice to respond to oil spills within Dockyard port. Pay will be between £29,434.44 and £38,319.60 per annum depending on increment level and pay spine. VACANCY FOR AN OF2 OF ANY SPECIALISATION SERVING AS THE CAPTAIN NAVAL RECRUITING (CNR) SO3 DEPUTY STAFF OFFICER (SO3 DSO) WITHIN CNR IN HM NAVAL BASE PORTSMOUTH - REF No 1763249 A vacancy has arisen for an OF2 of any specialisation to serve as The Captain Naval Recruiting (CNR) Deputy SO3 Within CNR In HM Naval Base Portsmouth on FTRS(LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCOS). The SO3 DSO is accountable to DCNR, who is the First Reporting Officer and CNR is the Second Reporting Officer. His/her primary purpose is to support CNR, especially regarding all recruiting matters requiring co-ordination within the TLB. A VACANCY FOR AN OF4 OF ANY SPECIALISATION SERVING AS THE FUTURE PERSONNEL/PERSONNEL POLICY (FP/PPOL) SO1 EXECUTIVE POLICY (SO1 EXEC POL) IN NCHQ, WHALE ISLAND, PORTSMOUTH, HANTS – REF No 1422107 A vacancy has arisen for an OF4 of any specialisation serving on Full Time Reserves Service (Home Commitment) (FTRS(HC)) as the CNPS Personnel Policy (PPOL) SO1 Executive Policy (SO1 EXEC POL) in NCHQ, Whale Island, Portsmouth, Hants. Accountable to DACOS FP/PPOL the FP/PPOL SO1 EXEC POL has the following responsibilities: 1. Lead and manage the Navy Command Executive Team (NCXT) in support of the Moral Component of Operational Capability (MCofOC). 2. Be the 3* NCHQ contact for providing direct Executive support and advice to those in a Command or senior management position (includes periodic briefs to CO/XO Desig Course and N1/G1 briefings as requested). 3. Direct the activity and tasking of the Command WO1s in support of the 2* Head of Fighting Arm: Generate the MCofOC barometers to influence the formulation of future policies and strategic direction. 6. VACANCY FOR AN RN/RM OR7 OF ANY SPECIALISATION SERVING ON A FULL-TIME RESERVE SERVICE (LIMITED COMMITMENT) (FTRS (LC)) AS A COMBINED CADET FORCE AREA INSTRUCTORS (ROYAL NAVY) (CPO CCF AI (RN)) IN THE SOUTH WEST AREA – REF No 1718640 A vacancy has arisen for an RN/RM OR7 of any specialisation to serve as CPO CCF AI (RN) for FOSNNI Youth Training HQ Combined Cadet Force in the South West Area on FTRS(LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCOS). Under the direction of Flag Officer Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland (FOSNNI), the Chief of Staff Youth is responsible for the delivery of Youth and Cadet policy and activity for the Royal Navy (RN). The activities of the Youth and Cadet Directorate encompass the funding, support and management of training delivered to RN-recognised Youth organisations including the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) - RN and Royal Marines and the development of training programmes by which the RN can interact with the wider youth community and provide opportunities for the RN to support Government youth policy in the development of young people. Working as an integral part of the CCF (RN) HQ Area Instructor Team the position holders will be required to work in support of approximately 12 CCF RN Sections in schools in their respective areas. S/He must be committed to youth training and the delivery of RN ethos and standards. Supporting the specific training elements of the CCF RN proficiency syllabus the post holder will be responsible for o Assisting and advising CCF(RN) officers on content, planning and execution of CCF (RN) cadet training o Attending training days / evenings / field days / for CCF RN Sections within the allocated area as regularly as possible and/or as designated by CCF RN HQ and/or where specific skills and qualifications are required to ensure safe training system is in place. o Promoting CCF (RN) camps, courses and Service facilities afloat and ashore o Providing input to the compilation of Performance Management reporting on CCF (RN) Sections 3 o Assisting with the planning and execution of CCF (RN) HQ administered camps and courses. o Supporting the RN Section in preparation for, and attendance at, CCF Biennial Inspections and other functions as directed by CCF (RN) HQ o Promoting understanding of RN values and ethos within CCF (RN) sections. o Liaising with the NRC HQ to identify opportunities for cadet involvement in their area. The successful candidates will have a broad knowledge of RN core values and ethos; significant work experience within an instructional environment as well as previous specialisation, general support and management experience. Relevant qualifications in these areas would be highly regarded, as would the ability to critically analyse complex information, all complemented by good written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidates will be required to work remotely from HQ therefore must have excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills with a high degree of self motivation and personal integrity.
