The facility is located within the National Press Building on the 2nd floor at 529 14th Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20045. The conference center features: • Tenant Lounge • The Sidebar Café • Pantries • Concierge • Three Boardrooms • Two Training Rooms Tenant Lounge Embrace the sleek, modern, and convenient 2,300 SF lounge exclusive to the National Press Building tenants, featuring vibrant colors and finishes. This private tenant lounge serves as the perfect gathering point before, in- between, and after conferences. The lounge features (4) 1080p 70” LED High Definition TV screens that are accompanied by dining tables and chairs, charging docks and work stations. The design also accommodates cozy seating areas and private alcoves. The Sidebar Café The Sidebar Café has partnered with Starbucks® to provide specialty coffee, espresso bar beverages, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, baked items, yogurt and fruit. Take your items to go or dine inside 3,850 square feet of freshly renovated space. Pantry The full functioning pantry accommodates all your catering needs. Concierge Capitol Concierge Inc. provides full concierge services for all tenants, such as catering, ticket booking, dry cleaning, tailoring, and automotive detailing. Continuing the legacy and tradition of the National Press Building, each conference room is named after a famous typewriter. Imperial Room Seats: 18 Square Feet: 520 Named after the Imperial Typewriter, which was produced by England’s ITC. Our most posh conference room features the largest conference space. It is located directly next to a reclusive seating arrangement. The Imperial Room features three Clarus® glass whiteboards, a Sharp® 80” Class -LED- 1080p- Smart screen, and a ClearOne® Tabletop Conference Phone System. The room is equipped with HDMI and VGA connections. The layout is configured as a boardroom style meeting space, which includes a built-in sideboard that contains trash and recycling receptacles, as well as catering display and storage space. Royal Room Seats: 8 Square Feet: 280 The Royal Room is named after the famous Royal Typewriter, which was used by Ernest Hemingway and Ian Fleming, the author of the “James Bond” novels. The Royal Room features two Clarus® glass whiteboards, a Sharp® 70” Class -LED- 1080p- Smart screen, and a ClearOne® Tabletop Conference Phone System. The room is equipped with HDMI and VGA connections. The Royal Room is configured as an executive meeting space, with a boardroom style layout. The conference room includes a built-in sideboard which contains trash and recycling receptacles, as well as catering display and storage space. Olympia Room Seats: 8 Square Feet: 270 Named after the West German “Olympia Typewriter,” which was celebrated by Old Hollywood and contemporary authors, alike. The Olympia Room features two Clarus® glass whiteboards, a Sharp® 70” Class -LED- 1080p- Smart screen, and a ClearOne® Tabletop Conference Phone System. The room is equipped with HDMI and VGA connections. The layout is configured as a boardroom style meeting space. Ideal as an executive meeting space, it features an elevated conference table and chairs, and natural daylight. Training Rooms The training rooms include all the amenities of the boardroom-style rooms, but with increased opportunity for flexibility. The two rooms are adjacent to each other and separated by a moveable wall, which allows for the merger of the two rooms, for a combined space of 934 square feet. The rooms also include conveyable tables, chairs, and whiteboards, offering additional adjustment potential. Training rooms are ideal for larger meetings, like seminars and lectures. Olivetti Room Seats: 18 Square Feet: 512 This training room is named after the Italian “Olivetti Typewriter” created by Olivetti S.p.A, a leader in tech innovation and the creator of the first commercial programmable desktop computer, “The Programma 101”. Much like our training rooms’ unifying design, in 1959, Olivetti S.p.A purchased a controlling interest in the Underwood Company, which ultimately created the merger: Olivetti- Underwood. The Olivetti Room features a moveable podium, mobile Clarus® glass whiteboard, a Sharp® 80” Class -LED- 1080p- Smart screen, a ClearOne® Tabletop Conference Phone System and Speaker. The room is equipped with HDMI and VGA connections. The Olivetti Room’s flexible layout style can be configured in a multitude of ways including boardroom style, hollow square style, U-shaped style, classroom style and auditorium style. The Olivetti and Underwood training rooms may be merged together to create an even larger training room which boasts increased layout modification. Underwood Room Seats: 14 Square Feet: 420 Named after the “Underwood Typewriter,” which was produced by the Underwood Company, located in Manhattan, NYC. The Underwood Company is the creator of “the first truly modern typewriter.” It merged with Olivetti S.p.A. and became formally known as Olivetti- Underwood. The Underwood Room features a mobile Clarus® glass whiteboard, a Sharp® 50” Class -LED- 2160p- Smart- 4k UHD screen, a ClearOne® Tabletop Conference Phone System and Speaker, a Panasonic® PT-VZ470 Projector, a Da- Lite® Projection Screen. The room is equipped with HDMI and VGA connections. The Underwood Room’s flexible layout style may be configured in a multitude of ways, including boardroom style, hollow square style, U-shaped style, classroom style and auditorium style. Additionally, the Underwood and Olivetti training rooms can be merged together to create an even larger training room which boasts increased layout modification.
