For a more reliable and faster internet connection while using video conferencing software, we encourage you to use an ethernet connection. An ethernet connection is a hard wired connection to Coe's internet services (rather than using wifi) through a port in your residence hall or other on campus location. Videoconferencing services use a significant amount of bandwidth and will be faster if you use an ethernet connection (instead of wifi). Regardless of how strong your wifi connection is or where you are located, an ethernet connection will always work better than wifi when using video conferencing services. You can purchase an ethernet cable at the Coe bookstore or online (Amazon is one option). Some devices will require use of an adapter to utilize an ethernet connection. Adapters can be purchased online. If you need an ethernet port turned on in your residence hall or if you have questions about using an ethernet connection, please submit a SchoolDude ticket. Please note that not all ethernet ports are turned on (intentionally) and you may have to submit a request to have a specific port activated.
