STEM Academy Tutoring Program – (Richardson) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves STEM Academy after school tutoring program to assist middle school and high school students below partially proficient in Math and ELA, from February 11th thru April 7th, 2016 from 2:45 pm – 4:15 pm (with two Middle School and High School teachers) in which the cost to the District not to exceed $2,244.00 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Elevate Study Skills Proposal for STEM Academy – (Richardson) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the implementation of Elevate Study Skills an International Study Skills provider that teachers everyday students how to use effective study for grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 starting February 29th, March 1st, March 4th and March 11th, 2016 with a cost to the District to not exceed $4,400. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. WinceyCo presents “Black Wax” – (Jackson) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, permits WinceyCo to present “Black Wax”, two musically educating assembly programs on the contributions of African American to Science, Sports & Music to the students of Langston Hughes School on February 19, 2016 at a cost to the District of $2,200. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Rizzo’s Reptiles – (Jackson) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, permits Rizzo’s Reptiles to present a program on the world of reptiles to the students of Langston Hughes School on March 30, 2016 at a cost to the District of $575. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. The Wake Up Call: Preparing Elementary Student for College and Career Readiness – (Moss- Hasan) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the “The Wake Up Call: Preparing Elementary Students for College and Career Readiness” parent workshop presented by Mrs. Tennile C. Raney on February 23, 2016 at a cost of $300 to the District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Young Audiences Assembly Program – Free to Dance – (Sturdivant) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves a presentation of Free to Dance (hosted by Young Audiences) for Wahlstrom students at Wahlstrom Early Childhood Academy on April 4, 2016 at a cost of $1,270 to the District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Young Audiences Assembly Program – Folktale Fun – (Sturdivant) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves a presentation of Folktale Fun (hosted by Young Audiences) for Wahlstrom students at Wahlstrom Early Childhood Academy on March 24, 2016 at a cost of $665 to the District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant.
