It is the first time in the Ferentz era Iowa has back-to-back winning seasons on the road. Iowa has five winning road records since 1999 (2002, 5-0; 2004, 3-2; 2009, SCHEDULE 4-1; 2013, 4-1; 2014, 3-2). 9/5 Illinois State • Iowa’s passing offense of 237 yards per game ranks eighth best for a single season in 9/12 at Iowa State program history. • In Big Ten games only, Iowa’s pass offense ranked No. 2 in the league with 248.5 yards 9/19 Pitt per game, its highest average since 2005 (263.5) and the third-highest average under Kirk 9/26 North Texas Ferentz (2004, 263.4). 10/3 at Wisconsin • In Big Ten games only, the Hawkeyes ranked No. 4 in total offense, averaging 417.2 yards per 10/10 Illinois (HC) game, its highest average since 2005 and the second-highest average under Kirk Ferentz. 10/17 at Northwestern • In Big Ten games only, the Hawkeyes led the conference in pass defense, allowing 136.9 10/31 Maryland passing yards per game. • Iowa’s defense allowed just 20 red-zone touchdowns, the third fewest in the league. 11/7 at Indiana • Iowa forced 4.38 3-and-outs per game, including 57-of-160 drives, 21st best in the country. 11/14 Minnesota • Nineteen Hawkeyes caught at least one pass this season (eight backs, seven receivers, 11/21 Purdue four tight ends). The Hawkeyes had 10 or more players record at least one catch in four 11/27 at Nebraska of their seven wins. • Iowa converted 14 fourth-down attempts, tied for the most in the Big Ten. The Hawkeyes scored two touchdowns on fourth down (one pass, one rush). ALL-BIG TEN • The Iowa defense forced 55 3-and-outs on 161 drives (33.7 percent). The Hawkeyes forced HONORS 4.2 3-and-outs per game. Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year • The Hawkeyes were the least penalized team in the Big Ten. Iowa was flagged 46 times LT Brandon Scherff for an average of 29.5 yards per game. • Iowa totaled 587 yards of total offense and 304 yards rushing at Illinois. Both numbers All-Big Ten Honors were season highs, and both rank No. 4 in the Kirk Ferentz era. President: Sally Mason • Senior RB Mark Weisman scored 16 rushing touchdowns this season, raising his career Director of Athletics: Gary Barta total to 32, No. 3 all-time behind Sedrick Shaw (33) and Tavian Banks (33). Weisman’s 32 Conference: Big Ten (West Division) rushing touchdown are the most in the Kirk Ferentz era. His 16 rushing scores are the third Nickname: Hawkeyes most by a Hawkeye in a single season (Shonn Greene, 20; Tavian Banks, 17). First Year of Football: 1889 • Senior QB Jake Rudock threw for 2,436 yards this season to become the 10th player in All-Time Record: 613-541-39 program history to pass for more than 4,000 career yards. Rudock has 4,819 career passing All-Time Bowl Record: 14-13-1 yards, the eighth highest total in school history. He threw for 16 touchdowns, raising his National Champions:1921, ‘56, ‘58, ‘60 career total to 34, the eighth most in program history.
