At Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), the year is significant for an additional reason: 2020 graduates represent the first ever graduating class of this new institution — established in July 2019 with the merger of Cumberland County College and Rowan College at Gloucester County. It is with pride and tremendous admiration that I, along with the faculty and staff of RCSJ, congratulate the graduating class of 2020. Many of the individuals listed in these pages will go on to transfer to four-year universities, some will enter directly into the workforce and others will use the credentials they have earned to advance within their current careers. Despite their different paths and varied destinations, all of our graduates will enter into the next phase of their life, education or career evolution without the tremendous debt that plagues many university graduates. RCSJ commends the graduating class of 2020 for displaying the drive to ensure a better future for themselves by pursing a degree, the foresight to embrace the opportunities offered by RCSJ at one of the lowest tuition rates in the state, and the flexibility and determination to keep moving forward despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. While 2020’s graduation lacks much of the pomp and circumstance of years prior, RCSJ’s confidence in the abilities of its graduates to make an impact on our world has only grown stronger. Please join with me in congratulating the unstoppable class of 2020. Frederick Keating, Ed.D. President 3 Student Recognition The Honors Adornments An honor cord, stole or tassel is symbolic of a student’s achievements throughout their academic career, either through accomplishing a certain grade point average, being a member of a particular honor society or club, or graduating from a particular school or department within the institution.
