ResearchonImpactofClimateChangeonIndianAgriculture Recommendation(ParaNo.2) 1.5TheCommitteehadobserved/recommendedasunder:— “TheCommitteenotethatFifthAssessmentReport(AR5)ofInter- GovernmentalPanelonClimateChange(IPCC)haswarnedabout warmingoftheclimatesystemacrosstheworld.ThisReportclearly broughtoutimpactofglobalwarmingsuchaswarmingofatmosphere andoceans,shrinkingofglaciers,meltingofArcticandAntarctic icesheets,riseofsealeveletc.TheCommitteehavebeeninformed thatasperAR5reporteachofthelastthreedecadeshasbeen gettingsuccessivelywarmerattheEarth’ssurfacethananypreceding decadesince1850.Theperiodfrom1983to2012wasverylikely thewarmest30-yearperiodduringthelast800yearsintheNorthern Hemisphereandlikelythewarmest30-yearperiodofthelast1400 years.Overthelasttwodecades,theGreenlandandAntarcticice sheetshavebeenlosingmass.Glaciershavecontinuedtoshrink
