Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! Song O Praise The Name (Anástasis) Prayer of Adoration and Invocation Baptism and Vows Lucy Mae Stong Scripture Psalm 111 Pastoral Prayer & Giving Preaching the Word of God Dr. Bob Smart Psalm 112:1-10; The Legacy Of A Blessed Life Responsive Song Take My Life And Let It Be Benediction Postlude K-Group Questions Text: Psalm 112 Context: This Psalm is in the middle of a little group of Psalms, which each beginning with Hallelujah; the Hallel Psalms. Psalm 112 is linked and paired with Psalm 111, both of them acrostics. Psalm 111 (God) Psalm 112 (the man of God). It is about the blessed life that fears the Lord. Discussion Questions: 1. How is the godly saint, who fears the Lord, very interested in the practical? (v. 1) 2. How does verses 2-3 go against the rampant individualism of today in our culture? 3. How does a "good land" need mighty men and women? How is a righteous person like God (Psalm 111:3; 112;3)? 4. How does the godly life flow out goodness to others (4)? 5. How can you become more generous, and how will that affect your legacy (5-6)? 6. How can fear become such a snare to a prosperous and godly person (7-8, 10)? 7. There are three temptations for the godly; abuse of privilege, fear of bad news, and being a miser. Which of these is also yours? How does 2 Corinthians 9:9-12 draw on this psalm? What is the alternative way to live (10)? 8. What is one application from this psalm? O Praise The Name (Anástasis) Take My Life And Let It Be I cast my mind to Calvary Take my life and let it be Where Jesus bled and died for me Consecrated, Lord, to Thee. I see His wounds His hands His feet Take my moments and my days My Saviour on that cursed tree Let them flow in ceaseless praise, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. His body bound and drenched in tears They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb Take my hands and let them move The entrance sealed by heavy stone At the impulse of Thy love. Messiah still and all alone Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee, (Chorus) Swift and beautiful for Thee. O praise the Name of the Lord our God O praise His Name forevermore Take my hands and let them move For endless days we will sing Your praise At the impulse of Thy love. Oh Lord oh Lord our God Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee, Then on the third at break of dawn Swift and beautiful for Thee. The Son of heaven rose again O trampled death where is your sting Take my silver and my gold; The angels roar for Christ the King Not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use (Chorus) Every power as Thou shalt choose, Every power as Thou shalt choose. He shall return in robes of white The blazing sun shall pierce the night Take my will and make it Thine; And I will rise among the saints It shall be no longer mine. My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face Take my heart-it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne, (Chorus) It shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love, my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store. Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee, Ever, only, all for Thee. 1301 North Linden Avenue Welcome to Christ Church Normal, Illinois 61761 Our mission mandate—cultivating Gospel transformation—takes place when (309) 452-7927 people use our mission map to take three steps: 1) belong to Gospel community, www.christchurchpca.org 2) grow in Gospel transformation, and 3) give to Gospel mission.
