This trip marks the first of three trips to Municipal Stadium in the second half. Upon completing this series, the 2018 2ND HALF STANDINGS Quakes will return home on Monday, July 9th to face Lancaster for four straight. Last night's win gives Rancho a 5-1 series-lead over the Giants. Brusa came home to get the force at the plate, but his throw bounced in the dirt for the second Giants' error of the inning, making it 8-3. Andre Scrubb * First-Half Division Winner (2-0), who came on with two outs in the eighth, retired all three batters he faced in the tenth to hang on for the win. STREAK STUFF: The Quakes enter Thursday on a season-long ten-game winning streak, putting their record at a season-best, elev- CAL LEAGUE SCOREBOARD en games over the .500 mark at 13-2 in the second half and 48-37 overall. During their ten-game winning streak, they've allowed just 17 runs, an average of 1.70 runs per game. D-LUX: Since missing two weeks (including the All-Star Game) with a hamstring injury, Gavin Lux has hit in eight of nine games, Today including eight in a row. Three of the last five games, Lux has recorded two hits in each and smacked his first round-tripper since Modesto at Lancaster, 6:35 PM coming off the DL in Tuesday night's 4-1 win over Inland Empire. Lux is batting .312 on the year after going 1-for-6 last night. Rancho Cucamonga at San Jose, 7:00 PM HEATING UP: After going 0-for-17 in June, Nick Yarnall has hit safely in all three July games, going 6-for-11 with a home run. Stockton at Inland Empire, 7:05 PM RECENT ROSTER MOVES: Thursday was a busy transaction day for the Quakes, as there were five total moves. Leaving the Quakes for Double-A Tulsa of the Texas League were All-Star Dean Kremer (5-3, 3.30 ERA, 16 GS), and relievers Michael Boyle (1-0, 0.87, 13 G, 3 SV) and Nolan Long (4-0, 1.14, 17 G, 2 SV). Activated off the DL is catcher Steve Berman (.298 avg, 3 HR, 11 RBIs, 15 G). In addition, the Dodgers have signed lefty pitcher Ben Holmes and assigned him to Rancho Cucamonga. Holmes was drafted Tomorrow Rancho Cucamonga at San Jose, 5:00 PM by the Miami Marlins in the ninth round of the 2014 draft out of Oregon State University. Holmes went 0-0 with a 5.56 ERA in eight Visalia at Lake Elsinore, 6:00 PM appearances this year, spread between High-A Jupiter of the Florida State League and Double-A Jacksonville of the Southern League. Modesto at Lancaster, 6:05 PM ANDERSON DEALS: Right-hander Isaac Anderson will make his ninth start and 21st appearance of the year in tonight's game Stockton at Inland Empire, 7:05 PM against the Giants. Anderson settled with a no-decision in his only appearance against the Giants this year on June 21st, allowing four earned runs on six hits with no walks and six strikeouts over four innings. Anderson enters tonight's game coming off of his two strongest outings of the year, earning wins against Lake Elsinore (June 26) and Inland Empire (July 1) and allowing just one run across the starts (10 total innings). The Wichita, KS native was drafted by the Dodgers in the 40th round of the 2015 draft out of 2018 QUAKES AT A GLANCE Wichita State and is in his fourth professional season. 1st Half Record: 35-35 OPPOSING PITCHER: Right-hander Melvin Adon will make his 16th start for San Jose and his second against the Quakes. In 2nd Half Record: 13-2 his last start against Rancho (June 21st), Adon allowed one run on five hits over four innings and settled with a no-decision. Adon vs San Jose: 5-1 is coming off of a loss his last time out against Stockton where he allowed five runs over five innings on June 26th. A native of the vs SJ Home 3-1 Dominican Republic, Adon signed with the Giants as an International Free Agent in 2015. Yasiel Puig joined the club on rehab assignment Tuesday (5/8) June 21 San Jose L, 5-6 in Lake Elsinore. Puig was 0-for-4 at the plate and was removed from the game in the seventh inning.
