Executive Agency (TEN-T EA) http://ec.europa.eu/tentea More specifically, the project aims to close the gap between St. Pölten- Loosdorf, where the freight rail bypasses St. Pölten. This is an essential Beneficiary: element of the four-track operation within the sub-section Vienna-Linz and Republic of Austria mainly serves to: www.bmvit.gv.at • close the gap of the priority axes Implementing body: • eliminate bottlenecks and increase the capacity in cross-border passenger Österreichische Bundesbahn (OEBB) and goods transport www.oebb.at • boost the attractiveness of the cross-border transport between Germany and the new Member States • develop more environmentally friendly international transport routes for passenger and goods transport. • ensure the continuity of the TEN main axis 17 from Paris to Bratislava In order to stimulate the economy, the project includes the foreseen construction of a total of 14 bridges in the area of the city of St. Pölten: • Construction of 7 bridges and the reconstruction of the A1 motorway 1 junction St. Pölten South • Construction of 7 bridges and the reconstruction of the S33 expressway junction St. Pölten East This project has been completed.
