It was beneficial to meet with colleagues from another region. It gives us a better chance to see how other planetarium professionals accomplish their goals and deal with situations that we may eventually encounter. Two highlights of this conference were the presentations of long time planetarium professionals William A. Gutsch, PhD and JPL’s Nagin Cox. I want to thank Eric Melenbrink and the entire staff of the Science Museum of Virginia and the Ethyl Corporation IMAX®Dome & Planetarium for put- ting together a wonderful conference. I know how much work goes into hosting a conference, and I greatly appreciate the effort put forth by this staff. If you did not attend this year’s conference, try to make plans for next year’s, which will be at the Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta, Georgia. If some of you are having problems affording conference visits, keep in mind that in the next few months we should be able to offer monies via the SEPA scholarship fund. Past President David Maness started this program. In a future SEPA journal we will print a set of require- ments and guidelines for these funds. At this year’s conference, we had elections for several items. First of all the 2006 conference will be held in Cocoa Beach, Florida. We also elected Adam Thanz of Bays Mountain Planetarium in Kingsport, Tennessee as President-Elect. Duncan Teague and John Hare were re-elected to their respective posi- tions of Secretary/Treasurer and IPS Representative. Congratulations to all of these fine people. Three Campbell Fellowship Award recipients were named at this year’s conference banquet: John Bell, Kris McCall, and Gary Meibaum. They were all deserving recipients of this prestigious award.
