N ovem ber 4, 2010 2 Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) ¾ National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) promuldlgated June 7, 1991 z Addresses corrosion of lead and copper in drinking water • primarily from service lines and household plumbing z Maximum Contaminant Level Goals (MCLG) • Lead ––00 µµg/Lg/L • Copper ––1.31.3 mg/L z Requires a treatment technique (p(optimized corrosion control) rather than a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) z Tap sampling results are compared to an action level • Lead ‐‐ 15 µg/L • Copper ‐‐ 131.3 mg/L z Action level for lead is a screen for optimal corrosion control as part of the treatment technique.
