Also widespread in south-eastern Australia (southern of south-western Queensland to SA, including Tasmania Western Mud Minnow and islands of Bass Strait) and elsewhere in the southern hemisphere (Lord Howe Australia Island, Chatham Islands, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and Falkland Islands.
