LACHLAN SHIRE COUNCIL PO BOX 216 CONDOBOLIN NSW 2877 PHONE: (02) 68 951 900 FAX: (02) 68 953 478 ROAD CONDITION REPORT To: Media Release From: Keith Dawe Company: Councils & Communication Outlets Date: 12 August 2016 Report Number: 15 1 page Roads in Lachlan Shire are open with some exceptions. Next review will be on Monday 15 August 2016. Caution is advised with conditions changing quickly as water rises and recedes. Some roads near Tottenham may still have residual effects of local flash flooding and a minor flood peak moving through the Bogan River downstream from the Dandaloo area. MR347 Dandaloo Road (to Trangie) between Albert and Bogan River – open but please reduce speed through the road works. SR1145 Burcher Road east of Burcher is closed across lake to Bogies Island – water over road. SR123 Stidwells Lane (north of Ungarie) is closed to all traffic south of the intersection with SR413 Keronga Road. Damage will be repaired after local flood water recedes. SR192 Trigalong River Road near Lake Cargelligo, caution advised with water over the road while water is released from the lakes to the Lachlan River. Lachlan River – the Bureau of Meteorology advises the river is below minor flood level. The next flush has petered out. The Condobolin gauge is steady at 4.75m this morning. Caution is recommended on flooded causeways near the river in the Condobolin, Kiacatoo and Euabalong areas as the river peaks move through, including: SR85 North Forbes Road (east of Condobolin) is closed at the concrete causeway. MR7521 Kiacatoo Road is closed 4km west of Kiacatoo Hall – water and road damage. Council regrets the inconvenience, but safety and preserving the road asset are of prime importance. Adjacent Shires may have road closures and load limits in place. Motorists are asked to use caution when travelling in wet weather and minimise travel on unsealed roads, particularly by heavy vehicles. Conditions can change quickly with local flash flooding, creeks flooding, washouts and soft or slippery road surfaces, especially with already wet catchments. Please avoid walking or driving through flood waters, it may be deeper and faster flowing than anticipated. The road may have suffered extensive damage hidden beneath the water. Concessions are possible on request, for urgent transport activity on routes considered suitable to carry the proposed loading. This road condition report is on Council’s website http://www.lachlan.nsw.gov.au/. For further information or to request a concession, please contact Lachlan Shire Infrastructure Services Department on 02 6895 1966. Keith Dawe Manager Operations .
