Cliff Stoudt

Cliff Stoudt Cliff Stoudt was a quarterback on the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1977 to 1983. Over that time, he won World Championships in Super Bowl XIII and XIV. Cliff was taken as the 4th quarterback drafted in the 1977 NFL draft and he backed up Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw for six seasons before taking over the QB controls of the team in 1983. Cliff led the team to a 10-6 record and the AFC Central Division championship, the first time the Steelers had reached that level since their 1979 Super Bowl season. In 1984, Stoudt left the Steelers and the NFL to play for the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions. In 2 USFL seasons, Cliff’s Stallions won more games than any other USFL team and he finished second to Hall of Famer Jim Kelly in passer ratings. In those 2 seasons, Stoudt threw for over 7,000 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards. With the demise of the USFL, Cliff returned to the NFL in 1986 with the St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals for 3 seasons and ended his playing career after one final season in Miami in 1989. Cliff’s 3 children have gone on to their own successful sports careers: daughter Cydnei played college basketball and sons Zackary and Cole played college football. Cliff, a member of Youngstown State University’s Hall of Fame, is a very entertaining speaker who once dazzled Bryant Gumble with his self-deprecating sense of humour. If your group is looking for a speaker who succeeded in the heavy shadows of legends, Cliff Stoudt is your man. Sports Celebrity Marketing S.C.M.
