The purported arrest by Sri Lanka has shocked and dismayed Eelam Tamils around the world and all other Tamil communities. 1982-1990 1991-2000 உலக வரலாறி In early 2009, the Sri Lankan government unleashed a ruthless war in the Vanni region of Sri Lanka, எ0, எெபாT> killing thousands of innocent civilians and maiming many more. The international community was fully 2001-2010 நிகழாத அEதமான aware that we, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam silenced our guns in order to protect our people, தியாககR, from Sri Lankan state terror. The LTTE leadership transformed our efforts to achieve Tamil peoples’ அதிசயமான aspirations through adopting political and diplomatic means. This shift in our thought and operational அபண*EகR process has brought immense support and encouraging இ0, எம> தாயக signs from many international governments. மண* நிக!திKகிற>. We vehemently condone the arrest of Mr. Selvarasa Pathmanathan while he was primarily engaged in சாV0 அசாத multi-lateral talks and negotiations to free the more than 300,000 civilians and freedom fighters, held in வ /ரதி0, internment camps and prisons by the Sri Lankan government, in contravention of international rules ஈகதி0 இலசிய and regulations. பறி0 எம> மாவ /ரK0 நிக The international community is fully aware of the plight of our people in these camps; that they are எவKேமய*ைல என living in appalling conditions without access to basic human needs. The arrest of Mr. Selvarasa நா ெபKமித>ட Pathmanathan is a reprehensible act by the Sri Lankan state, particularly at a time when we have 1Nேவ. decisively silenced our guns and have taken the necessary steps towards a political path to achieve இப8யானெதாK our freedom from state oppression. It is an act that that has plunged the entire Tamil community and மகிைமI, the LTTE in shock and deep sadness.
