We’ve rocked numerous grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and networking events. We’ve also again executed annual programs like the Honor America Days Parade and Concert along with the Rome Home Expo. The year has been so exciting and fruitful that I will be back for a second consecutive term as the Chairman of the Board. I am very hon- ored and proud of the extremely rare opportunity. Griffiss Business and Technology Park continues to impress and is an economic force for the city and county. It is poised to break the 6,000-job mark with corporations like Sovena USA, Assured Information Security (AIS), and Booz Allen Hamilton having had banner years. They’ve brought economic prosperity and great pride to our city. The chamber continues to happily assist these great assets as they’ve grown at an asymptotic rate. In addition to the Griffiss Park success, the city has secured $40 million in grants over the past Wes Cupp, Chairman few years. All of this economic activity has created a Rome Country Club buzz and energy that I’ve never experienced in Rome. Tangible progress is being made everywhere you look. This may read like your boil- erplate, overly optimistic chamber of commerce propaganda. I assure you, it is not. Rome is genuinely improving at a tremendous pace into a fabulous place. It is about time. We at the chamber are poised to facilitate this exciting progress. It will be our best year yet!
