Teachers house was not attached to the school. 1st teacher William Barbour appointed 17 April 1863, trained at Free Church Normal Seminary, Glasgow and was assistant at Glengarnock Iron Works School. School was established in 1814 under Royal Burgh of Irvine to educate poor and deprived children. Buildings used were erected c1750. Became known as Irvine East Road Primary School c1935. Closed Jan 1938. Records do not record name changes.
