
ACROSS THE POND AN INTERVIEW WITH JOHN LOVETT TRANSCRIPT When did you start being a Chelsea fan? I started being a Chelsea fan when I was about 10 years old because I was living in South West London at the time. The choice was two teams: Fulham or Chelsea. Fulham played in white, Chelsea played in blue. My favourite colour is blue, as simple as that. How many times have you been to Stamford Bridge? I’ve been to Stamford Bridge many times, probably more than 200. What do you love about Stamford Bridge? What I love most about Stamford Bridge is the atmosphere, it’s incredible. Who is your favourite Chelsea player? My favourite Chelsea player would have to be John Terry, captain, leader, legend. Are you happy with the Spanish players? I am really happy. In the first 11 players on the pitch, we have 5 Spanish players and they are all fantastic players. ACROSS THE POND Who is your favourite manager? My favourite manager would be Antonio Conte, he’s brought the glory back to Chelsea. What’s your opinion about Jose Mourinho? Jose Mourinho, controversial guy, but I have to say I love him, our most successful manager. What’s your opinion about the owner Abramóvich? Abramóvich is a great owner. He’s passionate about the club and invests a lot of time and money. What’s the best moment you have ever lived with Chelsea? I have two moments I can remember. The first, winning the Premier League in 2005 and being part of the atmosphere and the second, Munich, 2012, winning the Champions League. Wha’ts the worst moment you have ever lived with Chelsea? My worst moment with Chelsea would be the Champions League Final in Moscow 2008 against Manchester United. John Terry missed the penalty, Manchester United won the Cup. Have you ever been to a Spanish stadium to watch a football match? I’ve been to Spanish stadiums to watch a football match, Deportivo, in fact, I really enjoyed it.
