28 Feb 2014 Hindustan Times (Delhi) More films to roll out of Delhi : Basicolan Sandeep Marwah Akshay Marwah, cousin of Bollywood actors Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, is gearing up to venture into film production soon. This 28-year-old, who is the creative head of NCR-based Marwah Studios, says it’s only natural for him to do so. PHOTOS: HTCS “The Marwah Studios have been associated with films like Aisha, Rang De Basanti and Dev D, and also produced many short films. Since we have access to some of the best talent in the industry and we have strong infrastructure, we are planning to start producing or co-producing films which are shot in and around Delhi,” says Akshay, son of Sandeep Marwah who established the Marwah Studios about 23 years ago. Talking about why there is no need to move to Mumbai to produce films, he shared that although they have set up a branch in Mumbai, Delhi has become a hotspot for film shoots now. “Delhi offers fresh locations and lovely weather, while Marwah Studios offers strong support,” he says, adding, “Production is not limited to financing; it deals with the creative aspect from casting to overlooking the project.” Basicolan Sandeep Marwah is a product of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College BCom Hons 1978 MCom 1981 SOL and was a theatre-artiste and cultural activist as student. The Marwah studios and Asian Academy of Film and Television AAFT count renowned film-cultural personalities like Boney Kapoor , Anil Kapoor , Sri Devi , and Sonam Kapoor . and an impressive list of AAFT alumni to their credit . .
