Ntiasagwe who saw this day years before myself and did everything she could encourage and prayed for me. She answered the Lord’s call the year I enrolled in this program. Rest in Perfect peace mama, I did it for you. To my father, Mr. Bede A. Ntiasagwe, (Rtd RSM Nig. Army), who went to the Lord January of 2018, you sacrificed the little funds you had to make sure I got to where I could reach. To my great father and mother in-laws, Mazi Maxwell Okoro and Virginia Okoro, the best in-laws anyone could have. To beautiful and intelligent wife, Dr. Mrs. Charity Ntiasagwe who gave me all the mental, emotional and educational support I needed through this journey. My gifts from God, my wonderful children, whose mere being inspired me to finish what I started so that they too can see to completion whatever they started. Late Mr. Abu Zoeduah, Sr., a friend from Liberia who died on the eve of Christmas, December 2015 before he could complete his PhD. My dear friend I hope that you are smiling in Heaven knowing that today I crossed the finishing line for both of us. Rest in Perfect Peace. This is the will of God; I praise His Holly Name. I did it! Acknowledgments This dissertation has been my most significant and fulfilling academic endeavor I have ever had to confront. I must acknowledge the presence of God in my life while traveling this road to the end as it has come to completion today. Oh God I praise you and glorify your Holy name with all my heart and will remain grateful that your grace was sufficient and saw me to completion in this program. First, an African proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” To the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at NSU, I would like to express my profound gratitude to Dr. Bastidas, my committee chair for her unvarying caring when I was hospitalized in Florida away from home, your guidance and support as my chair and mentor throughout this journey and never gave up on my ability to write this dissertation. Dr. Cooper and Dr. McKay, members of my committee, your great advice, feedback, and support cannot go without expressing my sincere appreciation. I would also like to thank Dr. Muvingi for his sincere support during my dissertation process. To a great editor, Ms. Rebecca Allison, I do not have the words that could express the gratitude and appreciation that I feel for you. I called you on a short notice and you responded without hesitation. You are simply the best editor anyone could have. I would also like to thank Dr. Hutchinson for your encouragement and support through this journey. Special thanks to those who participated in this research especially alumni of Imo state University. Thank you for the sincere openness and interest you expressed, and I hope this study serves as a vehicle for your voices and stories. To Dr. Ogburu your inspiration and encouragement told me never give up and I didn’t thank you. To my beloved wife, Dr. Mrs. Ntiasagwe, children Obinna, Okechi, Ogechi, Victoria, Uche, my entire family and my wonderful friends, thank you for supporting me spiritually, emotionally and mentally throughout the writing of this dissertation and in life in general. You are the world to me.
