Beatriz Paredes Rangel Presidenta del CEN del PRI Nació en Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala, el 18 de agosto de 1953. Estudió Sociología en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Ha sido diputada y senadora en cuatro legislaturas; ha respondido informes de gobierno de los presidentes José López Portillo y Vicente Fox. Fue elegida como Gobernadora del estado de Tlaxcala en 1987, convirtiéndose en la segunda mujer gobernadora en la historia de México. Ha desempeñado numerosas funciones tanto en la administración pública federal como en el seno de su partido. Fue líder de la Confederación Nacional Campesina en 1994. Fue Presidenta del Congreso de la Unión en la LVIII Legislatura. Asimismo, ha sido Subsecretaria de Desarrollo Político y Subsecretaria de Gobierno de la Secretaría de Gobernación; también fue Subsecretaria en la Secretaría de la Reforma Agraria. Por otro lado, ha sido embajadora de México en Cuba y Presidenta del Parlamento Latinoamericano. En el Partido Revolucionario Institucional, ha sido Secretaria General del CEN del PRI, Presidenta de la Fundación Colosio y candidata a Jefa de Gobierno del Distrito Federal. Actualmente es Presidenta del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional del PRI. Beatriz Paredes was born in Tlaxcala on August 18th, 1953. She studied Sociology at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has been representative to the Chamber of Deputies and to the Senate in four different legislative terms. She also gave the answering speech to former Mexican Presidents José López Portillo and Vicente Fox. She was elected Governor of Tlaxcala in 1987, becoming the second woman to be elected state governor in Mexican history. She has served as a public officer at the federal level, as well as in the political party. She was leader of the National Peasant Confederation (CNC) in 1994. She became President of Congress in the LVIII Legislature. She has also been Undersecretary of Political Development and Undersecretary of Government at Mexico’s Secretariat of Interior, as well as undersecretary at the Mexican Agrarian Reform Secretariat. Paredes has also been Mexican ambassador to Cuba and President of the Latin American Parliament. At the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Paredes has been Secretary General and President of the Colosio Foundation; she also ran for City Mayor in Mexico City. She is currently the President of PRI’s National Executive Committee. .
