Soloveitchik (the Rav), one of the leading Rabbinic luminaries of the twentieth century, was known for his genius in lomdut (Talmudic/halakhic analysis), drush (homiletics) and philosophy. All three aspects of his thought are reflected in his approach to Chumash. However, until recently, gaining a complete perspective on the Rav's approach to Chumash required one to sift through dozens of books, hundreds of hours of lectures, and thousands of pages of notes. Now, for the first time, the Rav's teachings have been collected and organized in the form of a running commentary to the Torah and the Haftarot, accompanied by Rashi and Onkelos. This commentary, edited by Arnie Lustiger (the brother of Paul Lustiger), makes the Rav's teachings more accessible. Students of the Rav will welcome this monumental work with the same enthusiasm with which they have embraced the Mesoras HaRav machzorim. For a limited time only, Chumash Mesoras HaRav will be available at the discounted price of $29.95, with checks made out to Beth Aaron. Copies are available from the Beth Aaron office or by contacting Paul Lustiger, [email protected]. LOST AND FOUND Tortoise shell reading glasses Small silver necklace with heart-shaped chain Silver earring To claim these items, please contact the office, [email protected], 201-836-6210. https://ui.constantcontact.com/visualeditor/visual_editor_preview.jsp?agent.uid=1115591014898&format=html&print=true 3/8 11/8/13 Shabbat Shalom from Congregation Beth Aaron PAYMENTS TO BETH AARON In order to properly post payments made by check to Congregation Beth Aaron, please be sure to include a note or directions on the memo line of all checks that clearly indicates how the funds should be applied (i.e., membership, building fund, aliyah, yahrtzeit donation, etc.).
