Dr. Malich gave an overview on the Clark County School Justice Partnership program and reviewed expulsion. Health Risks Associated with Smoking. Information and discussion on potential health risks associated with smoking, including electronic cigarettes and vaping products. Yvette Wintermute gave a presentation on health risks associated with smoking, including electronic cigarettes and vaping products. The committee members discussed the American Lung Association, Teens Against Tobacco Use, vaping, smoking posters, stress relievers, discipline, zero tolerance, equal opportunity, and students’ vaping at a young age, Surgeon General, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), health curriculum, Clark County School District required videos for staff and students, national epidemic, and how to better educate the student. Future Meeting Topics Discussion on topics that can be presented at future meetings of the School Board Student Advisory Committee. Committee members stated they would like to cover mental health, social workers, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), College and Career Readiness Program, adults on campus, supportive services, and the role of the counselors.
