A parkland property’s CAPACITY field contains the same value as its ACREAGE field. The CAPACITY field of a non-parkland facility, program or a parkland property whose acreage is an integer (whole number) contains three trailing 0s to the right of a decimal point. The file structure in Access and ArcGIS can be viewed while running the software. 2 DATA DICTIONARY FOR SELECTED FACILITIES AND PROGRAM SITES IN NEW YORK CITY Release 2015 Field Name FACILITY ID (ID) Format: Alphanumeric - 18 characters Description: A unique identification number assigned to each facility, program, or parkland property. NOTE: Each parkland property is assigned a unique ID. If a parkland property is on more than one Tax Block/Tax Lot, multiple occurrences of Tax Blocks/Tax Lots and X/Y coordinates are stored for the property with the same ID. Similarly, if a parkland property is on more than one park parcel which are not assigned Tax Block/Tax Lot, multiple occurrences of X/Y coordinates are stored for the property with the same ID. Additionally, if a transportation facility (e.g. subway yard or airport) is on more than one Tax Block/Tax Lot, multiple occurrences of Tax Blocks/Tax Lots and X/Y coordinates are stored for the property with the same ID. Read field descriptions of TAX BLOCK, TAX LOT, X COORDINATE and Y COORDINATE. A number of social service programs (e.g. chemical dependency and developmental disability) have identical names, addresses, and capacities. They have been assigned different IDs to indicate that they are separate programs. Field Name: BORO CODE (BoroCode) Format: Numeric - 1 digit (9) Description: A one digit code identifying the borough in which the facility, program, or parkland property is located. This field is used for mapping selection. Specifically, Marble Hill is serviced by the Bronx but is legally located in Manhattan. A facility located in Marble Hill has a Manhattan BOROUGH code. Rikers Island is serviced by Queens but is legally located in the Bronx. A facility located on Rikers Island has a Bronx BOROUGH code. 3 Field Name: COMMUNITY DISTRICT (CD) Format: Numeric - 3 digits (999) Description: The community district or joint interest area of the facility, program, or parkland property. This field consists of three digits, the first of which contains the borough code (see BORO CODE). The second and third digits contain the community district number or the joint interest area number, whichever is applicable. There are 59 community districts (CDs) in New York City, and 12 joint interest areas (JIAs). JIAs are parks and airports that are not contained within any single CD. Field Name: FACILITY ADDRESS (FacAddress) Format: Alphanumeric - 90 characters Description: The address of the facility, program, or parkland property. The address is usually a house number and street name but can also be a house number range and a street name; two cross streets; or a place name (e.g., Floyd Bennett Field or Roosevelt Island).
