Somerville, MA August 26, 2020 7 State Representatives and State Senators Endorse Erika Uyterhoeven for State Representative BOSTON: Massachusetts elected officials have lined up to support Erika in the race for the 27th Middlesex district, seeing her as the clear choice and a needed vocal advocate for progressive change in Massachusetts. “If we want to reform qualified immunity or make a Massachusetts Green New Deal or Medicare for All a reality, we need progressive leaders in our legislature who know how to get things done. Erika is the clear progressive choice, and with her in the State House, we can bring real change to MA," said State Senator Jamie Eldridge. It’s a view that’s shared by many state representatives, as well. Framingham Rep and Co-Chair of the Progressive Caucus, Jack Patrick Lewis said, “We need more champions for progressive policies in the State House in order to move our communities and the Commonwealth forward. Erika's values, her knowledge of the State House, and her history of advocating for progressive policies makes her exactly the right person for the job. I am looking forward to partnering together to bring about the progressive change that our constituents are calling for." The dozens of unions and progressive advocacy groups that have endorsed Erika aren’t the only ones who see her as a champion of progressive issues. State Senator Rebecca Rausch, who represents the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex district, said, “From our days in Emerge to her work leading Act on Mass, I have always known Erika to be a fierce fighter for justice, equity, and transparency in government. She’s a deeply dedicated advocate, and she will bring that passion to the State House, pushing for progress on our shared values and uplifting her constituents.” Erika has helped transform politics in the state, as co-founder of Act on Mass, the leading advocacy group in Massachusetts for government transparency, and incumbent reps are eager to have her bring that perspective to the State House. “Erika has led a conversation around transparency in Massachusetts that has made the State House more accessible to voters across the Commonwealth,” said Maria Robinson, State Rep for the 6th Middlesex district. “I look forward to working with her productively on a wide range of progressive issues in the House.” Erika has been endorsed by: ● Rebecca Rausch, State Senator (D-Needham) ● Jamie Eldridge, State Senator (D-Acton) ● Jack Patrick Lewis, State Representative (D-Framingham) and Co-Chair of the Progressive Caucus ● Maria Robinson, State Representative (D-Framingham) ● Lindsay Sabadosa, State Representative (D-Northampton) ● Patrick Kearney, State Representative (D-Scituate) ● Jay Kaufman, Former State Representative for Lexington and former Chair of the Revenue Committee .
