Plan for restoration / reclamation None 3 ENVIRONMENT STUDY REPORT (RIVERBED SAND MINING PROJECT) PROPOSAL • I, Mr. Rameshbhai Somabhai Patel have been applied for extracting the sand (minor mineral) at Opp. Block No. 342, 341, 334, 335, 333, on Ambika River, Vill: Dhamdachha, Tal: Gandevi, Dist: Navsari with project name M/s. Rameshbhai Somabhai Patel . We are applying to regularize the existing Sand mining activity. The mining area of the unit is 1.87 ha that is less than 25 ha. Our sand lease area is not falling under CRZ area. Therefore, Project falls under category B (B2) of schedule 1(a), as per the EIA Notification, September 2006. The river has its origins in Saputara Hill ranges in the Nasik district of Maharashtra. Ambika has a drainage area of 2715 km2 and its travels 136 km before joining with Arabian Sea This is a wonderful place to be at in the evening. Many people come here to enjoy the scenery; from families relaxing to children playing cricket. One can even enjoy some ice- cream or sugar-cane juice from the nearby vendors whilst admiring the idyllic scenery. Mining of the minerals is done by excavating the mineral in ½ meter strip. Then the mining is restricted up to 2 m depth only. • We are doing the mining of the minerals (sand) by excavator (by using sand excavator) the minerals through the floating pipeline from in-stream active channel i.e. Opp. Block No. 342, 341, 334, 335, 333, on Ambika River, Vill: Dhamdachha, Tal: Gandevi, Dist: Navsari from an area of 1.87 ha.
