HAYLE COMMUNITY Hayle Academy SCHOOL 28 October 2019 Dear Parents/Carers Welcome back to all our students and I hope they have enjoyed a restful break in the middle of a busy school term. I am writing to briefly introduce myself to you, as the interim Head of School for Hayle Academy. My name is Mr Daniel Mather and I have been a member of the senior leadership team at Penryn College since 2005. Previously to this role, I worked as a curriculum leader in Cornwall: as Head of English at Fowey Academy and Richard Lander School. I feel very fortunate and privileged to be leading Hayle Academy for the rest of this academic year. My first visit to the school was last week and my initial impressions were extremely positive. Already I have had first-hand experience of the wonderful environment at the school and the warmth and dedication of the staff. The students I met were a real credit to the school: they were articulate, polite and proud of their school community. I am convinced that many of the ingredients needed to ensure the success of our students and the school are in place and that with the continued support of Jan Woodhouse and TPAT, the school is strongly positioned to make rapid improvements. I know we are all dedicated to this aim. The support of parents and the community is at the heart of our improvement journey, so please, if you have feedback for us, or ideas that will help us help our children, please do not hesitate to contact me.
