He met the flood affected people and enquired about their wellbeing. Addressing the flood affected people in Handiya, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government is with the people in the crisis of this severe flood disaster. There is no need to worry; all possible help will be provided. • Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that relief will be provided soon after full assessment of damage to crops, houses and goods as well as every loss. Affected people will get benefit of both RBC 6-4 and crop insurance. The lives of the affected people will be brought back on track. All arrangements will be proper. Ministers, Public Representatives including Commissioner, IG, Collector and the entire administrative team will be alert to help the public, so that better arrangements can be made. • Chief Minister Shri Chouhan further stated that after taking over the reign of the state, the state government has ensured full arrangements to tackle challenges of corona crisis and made available the resources. We will help people in overcoming this crisis of flood disaster soon. “Gandagi Bharat Chhodo- Madhya Pradesh” campaign • Campaign was launched from August 16 to 30 in 378 urban bodies • As many as 35 lakh citizens took part in the massive “Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh campaign launched in 378 urban bodies from August 16 to 30 in the state. In order to give shape to the Prime Minister’s call, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh instructed to convert this campaign into a mass campaign. Work was undertaken by dividing the campaign into five themes. • More than 7 lakh citizens took the oath of maintaining cleanliness during the campaign. Nearly 2 lakh 80 thousand citizens from various localities in the states were informed about the importance of cleanliness. About 8 lakh 70 thousand people were approached to make compost from wet waste and 18 lakh 35 thousand citizens engaged in this work were honoured. Four lakh 65 thousand masks were distributed in slums with the help of citizens under the Mask Awareness Campaign. Around 10 thousand Corona warrior sanitation workers have been honoured. As many as 3 lakh 98 thousand citizens have given online feedback for urban cleanliness. Teachers should play a role in building society • Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s message on Teachers’ Day • Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated all teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. In his message, CM Shri Chouhan said that teachers alone undertake the important task of building the society. They have important responsibility to build an ideal new generation. Under the ancient education system, teacher was called Guru, which means playing a role equivalent to God. Actually teaching is one of the holy deeds in this universe. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan further mentioned that even during the corona period, teachers have accomplished task to teach and train students through virtual class. The role of teachers in this period was commendable. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also urged the students to give due respect to the teachers’ community and to play a creative role for the nation by following the path showed by the teachers. Demise of journalist Shri Dixit • The Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade and Director Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh have expressed profound grief on the untimely demise of the Editor of Monthly Magazine Shubhra Jyotsana, Shri Yogesh Dixit, due to cardiac arrest. Shri Dixit was about 70 years of age. Commissioner Dr. Khade said that a financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh will be sanctioned to the family of Late Shri Dixit. Significant changes in the Education Sector • Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that concrete steps will be taken soon to improve the educational scenario in Madhya Pradesh. With a view to fulfill the actual objectives of education and to prepare students for employment after acquiring education, efforts will be made for better implementation of the new education policy in Madhya Pradesh. Efforts will be made to change the educational scenario in a positive way. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that commendable work has been done under “Hamara ghar, hamara Vidyalaya” in Madhya Pradesh during Corona period. Teachers deserve to be congratulated for this. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was interacting with the teachers community today through video conference. • Efforts for better implementation of new education policy in Madhya Pradesh • Efforts will be made for better implementation of the new education policy announced by Prime Minister Shri SEPTEMBER 2020 (CURRENT AFFAIRS) 2 Narendra Modi in Madhya Pradesh. Preparations have been made for implementation after extensive discussion related to education under the road map prepared for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh,. Vocational education which will start from Class VI will be useful for the students throughout their lives. Efforts will also be made to hold discussion on starting new schools, so that there is one school between 10 to 12 villages, where bus facility will be available for commuting. Apart from a library, skilled teachers will teach music, dance, yoga and Indian culture. Efforts will be made to ensure 100 percent placement of students and to remove unemployment. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there are immense possibilities of improvement in the field of education which will be realized. • Efforts will be made to enhance respect for teachers. Legal provisions will be made for reforms related to tuition fees by private schools and to ensure that teachers are not exploited. Much work has been done in the past years to improve system of education. • Congratulating teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that, Teachers’ Day is the birthday of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the great teacher, nurturer of Indian culture, one who adorned the post of President. Offering tributes to Dr. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan greeted and congratulated all the teachers who received the national and state level awards. • Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he himself has acquired education in a government school. Education acquired at the primary level is useful throughout life. Chief Minister Chouhan also remembered his teacher Shri Ratanchand Jain. Shri Chouhan said that the three main objectives of education are the knowledge, skill and culture of citizenship in acquiring which government schools have also proved successful. Many government schools have acquired better results than private schools for which these institutions deserve congratulations. • Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar also addressed the virtual programme. Principal Secretary Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Commissioner Public Education Smt. Jayashree Kiyawat were also present on the occasion. Two Teachers from state honoured with National Teachers’ Award-2020 • Two teachers from Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohammad Shahid Ansari and Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain have been conferred with the prestigious National Teachers Award-2020. The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind conferred the awards through an online event. Union Minister for Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of State for Education Shri Sanjay Dhotre along with senior officers of the Ministry were also present on the occasion. • Shri Mohammad Shahid Ansari has been awarded for his efficacy in teaching Mathematics. He is a teacher of Government Higher Secondary School, Khirsadoh, Parasiya-Chhindwara and has been teaching Mathematics for the last 14 years. He has innovated many effective teaching aids and teaching learning materials in Mathematics, which have been widely adopted. He has put up more than 300 videos in public domain for use by other teachers and students of class 9 and 10. He has also made a solar powered projector in his school to show educational videos to students. • Another recipient of the Award, Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain is teacher of Government Girls Primary School, Dunda- Tikamgarh. He is a highly motivated and committed teacher, who has worked hard to build a school with good infrastructure in a remote area of Madhya Pradesh. With the help of effective community support, he has successfully enhanced student enrolment in the school. He has innovated several teaching-learning practices in his school by using school floors, walls and open spaces as tools for joyful learning. He has used surrounding rocks and boulders as helpful teaching materials. • The national level awards are given to teachers on Teachers' Day to admire the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honour those teachers, who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students. Self-nomination by teachers was invited through online portal on www.mhrd.gov.in.The candidates were shortlisted based on the scrutiny at district and state level while the final selection for the awards was done by an Independent Jury at National level. The jury has selected 47 teachers for the year 2020. Madhya Pradesh is at 4th position in national ranking in Ease of Doing Business • On the basis of works carried out in Madhya Pradesh in the year 2018, the state has bagged fourth place in the country in the ranking of Ease of Doing Business-2019. Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana are at first, second and third positions respectively.
