Another Division in Melaka Nominates Mahathir and Abdullah

12 MAR 2000 Umno-Nominations (Kota Melaka) ANOTHER DIVISION IN MELAKA NOMINATES MAHATHIR AND ABDULLAH MELAKA, March 12 (Bernama) -- The Kota Melaka Umno division today nominated Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the top two posts in Umno. For the three vice-president posts, incumbent Datuk Seri Najib Razak was nominated along with former vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Osu Sukam. This is the third division in Melaka to nominate Dr Mahathir for the presidency and Abdullah for the deputy presidency, after the Batu Berendam and Selandar divisions. Division chief Datuk Amid Nordin, who proposed the names and that of 25 nominees for the Supreme Council, received unanimous support from the delegates. The Supreme Council nominees are Datuk Wira Mohamed Ali Rustam, Tan Sri Shahidan Kassim, Datuk Seri Syed Razak Syed Zain, Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali, Datuk Adnan Yaakob, Datuk Dr Helmi Yahaya, Datuk Azmi Khalid, Datuk Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, Senator Datuk Paduka Dr Abdul Hamid Othman, Datuk Mohamed Nazri Aziz, Tan Sri Kasitah Gadam, Datuk Abdul Aziz Shamsuddin, Datuk Suleiman Mohamad, Datuk Dr Shafie Salleh, Datuk Ishak Ismail, Datuk Zainal Abidin Zin, Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik, Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad, Datuk Annuar Musa, Datuk Mustapha Mohamed, Datuk Dr Yusof Nor, Datuk Dr Affifudin Omar, Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi, Abdullah Omar and Datuk Maznah Hamid. -- BERNAMA moz/myd sk.
