Overall 97 204 89 192 742 STORE LAMBS Larger entry again in keen demand, the large framed lambs still realising £77, to a top of £83 from Miss M Goodenough of Davidstow. STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER RICHARD DENNIS STORE CATTLE A cracking day at Hallworthy with over 400 Cattle through the rings. 330 Store Cattle were headed up this week by EJ & BA Masters of Mount with a superb pair of South Devon x Limousin Steers with depth and definition to £1145. Mr Lugg of Curry, Helston saw his wonderful run of Limousin x Steers with length and great shape to £1090, £1015 and £1010. Mr P Jones of Bratton Clovelly ran in next with a pen of three Charolais x Steers to £1070. Dairy cross Steers from Mr T C Allen of Roche saw his strong pen of Limousin x Steers to £1065. Also at £1065 was Mr G Cowling of St Issey with a strong run of young Charolais x Steers with his best three achieving £1065 and £1055 x3. Kim Larsen of Blisland saw his young real shapey Steer by the Limousin to £1000. Mr C A Kneebone also topped out at £1000 with a super young shapey and as he said quiet steer. Heifers Not so many Heifers but quality ran through what we had, with top spot going to a sensational pen of four Bazadais x Heifers with showy outlooks at 14 months to £1070, and an Aberdeen Angus Heifer to £950, both from Ken & Pat Bird of Crackington Haven. J H Bolt & Son of Trelash ran in next with Dairy x Limousin Heifers to £945 for a wonderful run of long lean Heifers. Mr T C Allen also saw his Limousin x Heifers the same way bred to £945. A R Hopper of Tresparrett was next with a single Simmental x Heifer with plenty of fleshing to £930, and a run of 15 month Charolais Heifers from £830-£880. Cows and Calves Mr M Hoskin ran in again this week with another 20 outfits, his top a Simmental Cow with Aberdeen Angus Bull calf to £1540, another at £1530, and a Hereford Cow with Hereford Calf to £1430, with another eight lots over £1200. Mr Hoskin will have another 20 outfits coming to the market next week 08/10/20 Stirks – Auctioneer Tim Kivell 70 Stirks forward today at Hallworthy and another decent trade, with the younger smaller types looking the dearest. Top call went to the Bradley Farm Partnership of Hallworthy with their British Blue Steers hitting £540. Mr C Hill had five well grown Aberdeen Angus Steers make £535 at only 6-7 months, and other steers at £490. Nigel and Toby Cleave of Pigsdon, Launcells had a decent run of Stirks, with their best Limousin Steers at 10 months making £510, British Blue Steers at 9 months to £490, and some younger Limousin Heifers hit £430. Up next was Harry Tamblyn of Morval with his 8 month Aberdeen Angus and Hereford Heifers reach £400, and Aberdeen Angus Steers at 7 months to £375. The smaller framed Stirks from Steve and Lucy Carpenter up from Looe sold to a premium at £400 for a 4-5 month Simmental Steer, a 4 month Charolais Heifer to £380 and £375 for a bunch of Simmental Heifers.
