No. 929-3244, 927-9702 Loc.131; Cell phone: 09274560042 PDEA CONFISCATES OVER ONE KILO OF SHABU IN MANILA Chinese national, live-in partner, cohort arrested Over one kilogram of methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, was seized by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Manila. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr., said the illegal drug was seized from suspect identified as Maribeth Hizon, 31 years old, a resident of Zamora Street, Pandacan, Manila. On September 19, 2015, at around 3:30 pm, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 4A (PDEA RO4A) under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz and PDEA Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11) under Director Adzhar Albani arrested Hizon near a pharmacy along Taft Avenue, Pedro Gil, Barangay 690, Malate, Manila after she sold the illegal drug weighing approximately one kilogram, with an estimated street value of P1.2 million to an undercover PDEA agent who acted as buyer. However, the subject of the buy-bust operation identified as Xu Jinshi, a 34-year-old Chinese national and Hizon’s live-in partner, who made the deal with the poseur-buyer, did not appear in the agreed meeting place but instead sent Hizon to hand over the illegal drug during the transaction. Two hours later, a follow-up operation was immediately hatched by the same operating team that led to the arrest of Jinshi and his young cohort, Magaling Kurt, 19, during a lawful search in his rented condominium unit in Empire Plaza Condominium, G. Masangkay Street, Barangay 264, Zone 24, Tondo, Manila. Seized inside were one plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing 114.1931 grams worth P137,000, one digital weighing scale and one self-sealing plastic bag containing assorted drug paraphernalia. Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court against Hizon before the Office of the City Prosecutor, Manila, while Jinshi and Kurt will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of the anti-drug law. They are presently detained at the PDEA RO4A detention facility in Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba, Laguna. # # # .
