The water depths have been 5 5 calculated using the height difference between the water surface of the maximum flood extent and the values of the riverbed indicated in the DS M. The thematic accuracy of this product is 80% or better, based on internal validation procedures. The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 5 m, from native positional accuracy of the back ground satellite image. Maximum flood extent and water depth information are simulated products. Therefore, their quality depends on the accuracy of the input data. S ome errors may subsist due to the presence of outliers.
