This is to allow all schools an opportunity to register and attend. The wait list should give flexibility and still provide schools with more delegates an opportunity to attend the convention on a first-come, first-served basis. Review this checklist to ensure your FASC 2020 registration is complete. ❑ Make your hotel arrangements ❑ Email, fax, or mail all of the following registration forms and checks by January 29, 2020 to: Mail: Leon High School (ATTN: SGA) 550 E Tennessee St Tallahassee FL, 32308 Email: [email protected] ● “FASC 2020 School Registration Form” and “Transportation Information” (copy must be received with check to be considered registered on-time) ● “FASC 2020 School Registration Form Itemized” (copy must be received with check to be considered registered on-time) The following must be received before start of convention: One “Advisor Registration Form” per advisor or chaperone attending One “Student Registration Form” per student attending with Copy of Insurance Card One “Delegate Convention Agreement Form” per student attending ❑ Register to present a Workshop (optional) If your school plans to present a workshop at FASC 2020, email Olivia Sordelet at [email protected] or Chelsey Riddle at [email protected] to receive info to fill out the online workshop presenter form. ❑ Complete “Declaration of Intent to Run”, if running for office If your school plans to run for an FASC Office at FASC 2020, please fill out the “Declaration of Intent to Run Form” and read the “Rules and Regulation” page on www.fasa.net. Forms must be submitted to Executive Director Dr. Sohn at [email protected] by Thursday, January 23, 2020. ❏ Nominate candidates for awards Specific Awards should be submitted to Executive Director Dr. Sohn at [email protected] by Thursday, January 16, 2020. These include Principal of the Year, Advisor of the Year, and Member of the Year (middle and high level). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Leon H.S. Advisor, Josh Stewart, at [email protected] Page | 2 Conference Information State Conference Overview All FASC members, middle and high school, are invited to attend. Delegates will attend general sessions, seminars and workshops designed to teach, motivate and inspire! Conference Location/Date This year’s conference will be hosted in District One, Thursday, March 5 – Saturday, March 7, 2020. The host school is Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida. Number of Delegates There is an initial limit of 12 student delegates per school for this year’s conference. Student delegates listed on the registration form over the 12 delegate limit will be added to a wait list, to a maximum of 20 student delegates. “Wait list” students will be considered after all on-time registrations have been received, and in the order that the school submitted its registration. An exception will be made for schools running for state office or schools competing in the parliamentary procedure contest. These schools will be allowed an initial limit of 16 student delegates; additional students will be wait-listed to the maximum of 20. Each delegation must be accompanied by an approved adult from their school. Registrations / Refunds / Substitution All FASC event paperwork and payments are due by the event registration deadline of Jan. 29, 2020. A school is NOT registered until the event host receives the required delegation paperwork and payment. NO refunds will be issued after the event registration deadline of Jan. 29, 2020. A delegate may be substituted as long as the substitute has the proper paperwork completed and submitted to the host prior to the start of the FASC event. However, the substitute will receive the t-shirt size requested by the original delegate. Hotel Reservations Each school is responsible for reserving accommodations at one of the hotels listed in the information packet. In order to receive the FASC Conference rate, you must tell the hotel that you are participating in the Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) Leadership Conference. To ensure we will have enough housing, please release all unused rooms by February 12, 2020. Meals All meals will be provided during the conference starting with dinner on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Delegates with special dietary needs must note their concerns on the school registration form and the delegate registration form and checklist. It is also advisable for delegates to bring their OWN refillable water bottle. There will be stations available to refill water bottles at all convention locations.
