Date of Release: 10 August 2021 Reference No. 2021-016 his special release presents data on registered births, deaths and marriages T by sex and city/municipality in the Province of Cavite occurring in June 2021. The report was obtained from the certificates that were transmitted by the city/municipality civil registrars to the Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing. This implies that male births outnumbered female births. 1,364, 30% Legitimate Illegitimate 3,200, 70% FIGURE 2: June 2021 Total Registered Live Births by Legitimacy Status Figure 1 shows that 70% of babies born on the month of June were legitimate while 30% were illegitimate. Thus, majority of the babies’ parents were not yet married at the time of their birth registration. 888, 19% Timely Late 3,676, 81% FIGURE 3: June 2021 Total Registered Live Births by Registration Status Figure 3 shows that out of 4,564 total live births, 3,676 or 81% were timely registered and 888 or 19% were late registered. Only 553 were born on their own house/home. Birth Statistics Summary: A total of 4,564 live births was registered for the month of June in the Province of Cavite; 2,368 of which were male and 2,196 were female. This was higher by 307 in comparison to the previous month (May). For the reference period, the municipality with the highest number of live births is still the City of Dasmariñas, having a total of 839 babies which is equivalent to 18% of the registration. It was followed by Bacoor and General Trias with 730 and 463 number of births respectively. On the other hand, the lowest registration is still recorded on the municipality of Ternate having 6 live births that is equivalent to 0.1% of the registration. With regards to sex, as shown on Figure 1, 51.88% was comprised of male births while the remaining 48.12% was covered by female births. Statistically, male births were higher by 172 than female births. Only 4 municipalities reported more female births than male births. The said municipalities were Alfonso, Amadeo, Carmona, Imus and Rosario. As to the legitimacy status, there were more illegitimate babies born in the province covering 70% of the registration. The said percentage was the same with that of the previous month. Among all the municipalities, only Alfonso recorded a higher number of legitimate babies than illegitimate. Additionally, majority of the registration in the province were timely and this was shown on Figure 3. Timely registration covered 81% of the registered live births or a total of 3,676 while late registration covered 19%. For the whole month of June 2021, the highest rate of late registration came from the City of Dasmariñas having 200 late registrations. As presented on Figure 4, births attended by physician is still the most common practice applied in the province. It was recorded that 2,038 live births or equivalent to 45% of the total births was handled by physician. It was followed by midwife and hilot /unlicensed midwife with total delivery of 1,937 and 423 respectively. Hence, in Figure 5, it was shown that 4,008 babies were born in health facilities which is equivalent to 88% of total live births while 12% or 553 babies were born on their own house/home. Thus, majority of the deceased was registered on time. It has a total count of 1,154. It was followed by deaths attended by public health officer with 431, hospital authority with 406, private physician with 317 and other attendants with 72 reported deaths. Death Statistics Summary: A total of 2,380 fatalities was recorded in the Province of Cavite for June 2021. This was comprised of 1,270 males and 1,110 females. Thus, male deaths outnumbered female deaths by 160. As shown on Figure 6, male comprised the 55.10% of deaths while female covered the remaining 44.90%. For this reference period, there were 5 municipalities where female deaths were higher compared to their recorded male deaths. Those were Alfonso, Amadeo, Bacoor, Imus, and Kawit. Only 35 out of 80 deceased in Kawit were male while 45 or 56% were female. The municipality with the highest number of deaths is still the City of Dasmariñas having 462 fatalities, covering around 19% of total deaths in the province.
