AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BERKELEY GROUP The Berkeley Group builds homes and neighbourhoods. We create beautiful, successful places. We work together with other people to tackle the shortage of good quality homes; and we make a lasting contribution to the landscape and to the communities we help create. FOR EVERYONE Berkeley builds for everyone: from families to first time buyers, students to older people, and luxury living to affordable housing. Our developments range in size from a few dozen homes near a market town to complex, mixed-use urban regeneration programmes with over five thousand dwellings. We build schools and stations alongside a mix of housing that ranges from riverside apartments to traditional homes designed in the local vernacular. OUR VALUES The core values that underpin Berkeley remain unchanged from its early days. These are a passion for great places, having integrity, showing respect for people, thinking creatively and achieving excellence through detail. This culture informs the way we work, the way we lead the business, and what we deliver to our customers. We focus just as hard on the way we work as the products we deliver. Now, with the help of a world-class design team, there will be 550 new homes, 174 of which are affordable, alongside restaurants, offices and welcoming public space. The Merano, Dumont and Corniche buildings breathe new life into this whole area, funding family council housing, arts, and refurbishment of the Vauxhall City Farm. 50% of the site is public open space for everyone to enjoy. REGENERATION LONDON DOCK In the 18th century, this 15 acre site lay at the heart of London’s docklands. It is now being transformed into a new neighbourhood with 1,800 homes, 500 of which will be affordable, set within a series of landscaped public squares and gardens containing cafes and shops. We have collaborated with Bow Arts to create studios in the listed Pennington Street Warehouse, which are being used by more than 100 artists and makers. A development by HERITAGE ST JOSEPH’S GATE The award-winning Grade II listed chapel and seminary college at Mill Hill was originally conceived by Cardinal Vaughan 150 years ago. This is now the centrepiece of 49 new and converted homes at our St Joseph’s Gate development in North London. The Chapel itself has been transformed into an 8,000 sq ft home with vaulted ceilings and views looking across the village below. A development by A NEW GENERATION Berkeley builds world class student accommodation. We apply the same set of qualities found in our residential development to this sector: great public realm, a mix of uses, and elegant entrance areas. We have excellent relationships with universities in London and use different financial models to help bring this product to the market.
